Poe laughs when he sees those shorts, definitely laughing with Finn and not at him. "Playing to your audience, huh?" Those still look nice on Finn's butt, and he does like the color a little better than the electric blue. "Be careful, BB-8 might think those are for it."
"You mean you like the colors? I wouldn't have guessed." No, Finn's laughing, too, because he really is playing to his audience. "But what do you think of the style? Should I go with this or the blue one?"
"Complete surprise, right?" He gives the shorts a more calculating look. "Kinda like the other style a little better cause I'm pretty fond of your ass. But the color isn't quite right. They have it in purple or deep blue?"
Finn puffs up at the compliment. "Think so. One second." He ducks back in, comes out in his regular clothes, and drops off the suits into a quick-sterilize bin. A little looking where he'd found the blue one, and--
"This purple look good?" It's a deep amethyst shade, one Finn's never worn before.
He is definitely looking at that butt now. Totally inspecting it just to help with the fashion issue. Yep. "I like it. Looks perfect on you, Finn. Really good."
Damn he wants to just grab a handful of that. Not appropriate in the middle of a shop.
Yeah, if Poe's going to look at him like that, this is definitely the one he wants to get. "Done. Now you gotta try some on for me." He goes to pay for the suit (the clerk also approves of the choice, it seems) while Poe grabs his potential suits and then sits down in the waiting seat, grinning in anticipation.
"You got any suggestions?" he asks, laughing? He'll grab some for himself, of course, heading for what he's pretty sure will be flattering. And he definitely does have a preference for orange.
Sure, he'll throw on something brief and clingy, just to get back at Finn. Give it a little pose.
Okay, yes, the little thong gets a laugh from Finn. "Is that what I looked like? That'd definitely fall off if a wave hit you. Go on, get one of the other ones."
It's probably supposed to look sexy, but silly is what comes to mind.
"Yeah? I don't know. Nothing wrong with yours." He can believe it, though; Poe necessarily spends a lot more time sitting down, while Finn tends to walk around on patrol. It doesn't stop him from wanting a closer inspection, naturally.
The man might be predisposed toward orange for some strange reason. Still, it doesn't look bad on him. "That's a lot more practical. Might actually stand up to some swimming."
"Uh, lemme check." He ducks back into the dressing room. "Okay, fine." He did grab one pair that wasn't some kind of orange shade: how about a nice pair of short, black and red, clingy swim trunks. "This is the best I got."
Black Squadron represent, yo. Technically he could go for red or blue, too, they just don't look as good on him, in his opinion. "But do you think it's a better color? 'cause you're going to be looking at them more than I will."
"As long as it's not solid white, I won't complain." Any color at all is better than the whites and blacks he's been around for so long - even if he thinks Poe's orange preference is humorous. Pilots gotta pilot.
"Definitely not." For a lot of reasons. But okay Finn, fine, he's getting an orange swimsuit. Also ought to make him easier to pick out if there's a crowd. But he goes for one that's got the same cut as the suit he just tried on.
"Okay, general store next." He's hoping that they'll have basic stuff like lube in there with kits to deal with sunburn and the like. He really doesn't want to have to go to an actual medical shop, that's when it starts feeling weird. And since this is a little off the beaten path, there isn't a porn shop here that he's spotted.
If the rest of the crowd is as well-built as Poe such that he has to use swimsuit color to pick him out, Finn will be extra glad at this choice of vacation destination.
Aside from (of course) some pre-packaged trail food, Finn isn't sure what else he needs from the general store. "Sunglasses or a hat?" Something to combat the glare, yes. And...hm. No, he's too used to having everything supplied for him. Finn goes over to Poe to see what he's picking up.
There's a full array of scantily clad humans and aliens out there, Finn, just waiting for you to feast your eyes. Try not to go into overload.
Poe does, thankfully, find what he's looking for. The prophylactics, he's not so worried about. He's had his vaccinations and his regular checkups with medical, and for all he's an outgoing guy he's been too focused to get out all that much since he joined the Republic Starfleet. (And the few times he has gone for a casual fling, he's been damn careful about it.) And he knows Finn's had to have gotten a clean bill of health from the base physician too, or he wouldn't be out with the soldiers.
But lube? Still necessary. Very, very necessary. "Sunglasses aren't a bad idea," he opines, as he looks over the limited choices. Nothing fancy is really necessary, as far as he's concerned. Mostly he just wants something that's easy to clean up and isn't going to stain. He grabs one of the little bottles. "You ready?'
"Ready." Sunglasses it is, and after a short deliberation a reusable souvenir bag to carry his purchases. He offers to carry Poe's items as well, not really paying attention to them (sunblock? He's more vulnerable to sunburn than Finn is) and then exiting. Now what? There's a beach area with lounge chairs, the surfboard rental shop, a restaurant (later, Finn promises his stomach), and a few other buildings he isn't entirely clear on yet.
His attention is caught by a drink stand, though. "You want anything?" He'll grab a fruity concoction for himself.
He grabs a pair of sunglasses for himself and thinks nothing of letting Finn carry the stuff if he wants to. Obviously, it's not like lube is a secret thing considering what they were doing before lunch.
"Sure, let's see if they got anything fizzy..." And they do, which is refreshing. Fizzy and citrusy, he'll take it. "What's next on your list of things you want to do?" he asks. "I figure it's your first day of your first leave ever, so you get to pick."
The very next item on his list is to sit close enough to Poe that he's pressed up comfortably against him, even if it's not quite a lean. "I don't know," Finn admits. "Lay around in the sun and test out these new swimsuits? Then dinner and a run back to the hotel?"
He's open to other suggestions, but aside from relaxing, eating, exercise, and Poe he's not sure what else he wants to do on this vacation.
That sounds like a good plan, as far as Poe's concerned. He slides his arm around Finn's waist and is pretty satisfied with the situation in general. "That sounds like a good plan," Poe says. "It'll be my turn to pick tomorrow, how about." Just so that way, Finn doesn't have to keep coming up with what he wants to do if he doesn't want to.
It's a lazy afternoon, then, laying around on the beach, splashing in the water, then back to the beach. Mostly, Poe just feels absolutely goofy with happiness, because he's doing this stuff with Finn, and they sure do spend a lot of time standing way too close. Though that has the effect of also pushing him to thinking about less innocent things, which is also all right. By the time they're heading back to the hotel, he's feeling very ready to get Finn alone.
Which is why as soon as they're in Finn's room, since that's the first stop, he's already hauling Finn back to kiss him as he backs the door shut and leans against it.
Having Poe choose half the days is a relaxing thought - after all, Poe probably has a better idea what options are available. So with his mind at ease, Finn enjoys himself thoroughly for the rest of the day. Here and there he exchanges a caress or grope or, very occasionally, a kiss with Poe, and his earlier satisfaction is replaced with a growing need for more.
Once they reach the privacy of his room, it's fair game. Finn moans against Poe's lips and presses him up against the door, tugging Poe's shirt up and getting harder by the moment. "You ready, Poe? I'm ready." Ready to taste those lips, the salty tang of his jawline, the softer skin of his neck. To bury a hand in Poe's hair again because it felt so good last time, and grinding to get harder while hands are still busy on the upper body. Ready to see if Poe's going to squirm under him once they get to the bed or if he has something else in mind.
Poe squirms out of his shirt as best he can with Finn pressed up against him, and he can't miss that the man's already getting aroused, which sets him off just as bad. Anticipation works wonders. He arches his back into that touch. "Unh..." Any shyness there was is definitely long since gone, and it's a thousand times hotter for that reason.
His shirt gets dumped on the floor with unseemly haste. He clutches at Finn's shirt with one hand, the other sliding down over his butt to keep him close and damn the man's got a nice ass. "Hell yeah, I'm ready," he says, rather breathlessly. "Let's do this. What do you want?"
Oh. And he needs to be responsible. Ish. "And don't do anything that's going to hurt your back."
