It gives him a warm feeling to know there's someone worrying about him, even if Finn is pretty sure he can take care of himself.
"There might not be any left when I go back," Finn points out as he digs into some eggs--real eggs, peppered with bits of real vegetables. He's still very much not used to the concept of eating the way normal people do.

Finn blinks a few times. "But it's all fresh." That means it's clearly in limited supply, right?
It takes a moment before that really sinks in, but when he does, he ducks his head and grins, a little embarrassed.
"Right. It's gotta all come from somewhere."
And then his expression brightens. "Maybe I'll get a second plate when I'm done with this, then."

Is he hungry? As always, the answer is yes - though he's at least not stuffing his face so fast he's liable to choke. Judging by the expression on his face, it's all very good.
"Whatever it is, I like it. Maybe we can check out one of those restaurants we passed for lunch later, too?"

There's not really any use thinking about how bad things were, because he's never going to have to deal with it again. He knows that much.
And the vacation is helping with many things.
"Let's do it," he decides as his plate steadily empties.

"That works good enough for me." Honestly, he has no preference as long as it's food - as evidenced by the rapid disappearance of what's on his plate. Some day he'll get used to the idea that food's not time-limited and he doesn't have to shovel everything into his mouth, but it hasn't happened yet.
"Tell me about it." Taking this 'second plate' idea at face value, he grabs a small dish of fruit to wrap up breakfast with. "I'm used to having everything regimented. Maybe that's why it was so easy for me to join you guys." He doesn't name names, not where the First Order and the Resistance might turn heads, but anybody looking at them can probably tell they're military on leave anyway.
"A lot more comfortable."
Finn reaches over to squeeze Poe's hand quickly. Selfish or not, it was the right thing to do. "Me, too."

"They do?" It's the first he's heard of it. Besides, what Poe calls good deeds are only things he's done for himself or for his friends.
He gobbles the last few bites in a way that just screams career military and nods. "Yeah. You ready to go rent a skimmer and do some flying?"

"Never heard of that." But Poe seems to know a lot, so--maybe he's right.
He wraps up his breakfast and heads over with Poe to the rental place. The rental choices are definitely more civilian (there aren't even any weapons mounted) and flimsy-looking, but they should be fine for some in-atmosphere techniques. "All right, you're in charge now."

Yeah, the looks are deceiving him. But Poe wouldn't lie to him, right? Finn gets in nervously.
"This better not fall apart on us."

"If you say so."
Poe would know, really, but he doesn't seem to relax until they lift off and it does not in fact fall apart under them. Once they're in the air, though, it's all Poe--and it's almost as fun to watch him doing what he loves as it is to be along for the ride.

Finn does well, even enjoying it once they're in the air and he knows Poe's not going to let anything happen to him. More than once he yells when Poe does a fancy move, but it's delight; he's having a great time.
"You fly like you're the one with wings!"
