He could really use a break, if he's being honest. Going nonstop isn't so hard, but he's got a backlog of mental crap he just needs to sit down and sort through, and there's no breathing room for it. If they weren't on high alert he'd already have checked himself out for a mental health weekend; his parents had never been keen on talking about their troubles or war stories (he wonders now how many of those were one and the same) but they'd made sure he didn't have any mental baggage about needing to keep himself on an even keel.
